The other day I was walking by the Met when a woman caught my eye (I love when that happens!). She was strolling along and looked super cool in her bright yellow track pants, oversized gray tee, cool converse and a big knit beanie. I surreptitiously ran her down to get a closer look and snap some sneaky pictures, seen below.

This was late afternoon and it appeared to be her very cool strolling around look. It got me thinking that I need to up my own active game. I try to clock five miles walking everyday which is actually quite easy living in New York. I start my morning with a walk in Central Park which knocks off two and a half to three miles. If I’m running around that day the balance is easily reached. If I’m working at home I’ll go for a walk later in the day. My point is I spend a couple hours everyday walking and for the morning portion of it I’ve fallen into a boring style rut. The look consists of Lululemon leggings in navy or black, running shoes, tee and depending on the weather a windbreaker or various layers. Boring! I give it little to no thought. This woman in yellow track pants woke me up from my style fog. Why am I missing out on these fun possibilities?

Since I rarely even look at activewear (my bad) I was pleasantly surprised to find there was a lot of great stuff out there at reasonable prices and better still much of it is on sale right now.
