Hi friends,

Today, I returned from my trip to a much more tolerable New York. In response to the messages and comments expressing interest in how I fit all my clothes and the additional detritus necessary for a week away, I diligently took photos documenting the packing process for the return trip home. I don’t blame my astute readers for questioning how the hell I fit it all in a small carryon and tote bag, but I’m here to say it can be done.

Welcome to What Looks Good. This is a paid post. To read it in its entirety, please consider supporting my work with a paid subscription or redeeming a free trial.

If I had to grade myself on packing based on always having something to wear that I felt good about and worked well for the weather, I would give myself an A. However, there were four unworn pieces (I hate schlepping unworn pieces) consisting of two bathing suits, a caftan and a beach dress so my final grade goes down to an A-. It just wasn’t warm enough for the beach and swimming, but you have to bring at least one suit and coverup, just in case, not two. Lessons learned.

Here are the pics to prove it can be done and a couple little tips along the way. Thank you readers for paying attention!
