Nothing is more tempting than a great deal. Who amongst is not susceptible to a hefty markdown particularly from a big name designer. There is a lot of psychology at play, I’ve been there myself and have been burned more than a few times. But I’m older and wiser now and have learned that the same criteria applied to full price purchases should be applied to sale deals. Even a great deal is worthless if you don’t wear it or worse, you do wear it and it’s all wrong.
I’m not a total killjoy. Nothing is more thrilling than snagging the pricey item you’ve been coveting for significantly less. Snap! The key is patience, knowing what you’re stalking and laser focus. The luxury market pumps out an awful lot of products in hope for a few waitlisted winners. The rest of the collection will hopefully have respectable sales but it’s anyone’s guess what will be the winners and losers. Excess must be sold, hence the ungainly sales racks that come out and online dumps.
Here are my five rules for scoring what you really need to enhance your wardrobe. Think of it as sport, you’ll win some and some will get away, but this way you’re playing like a pro!
