I’m a fan of this style, going back to the late 70s! I’m always looking for these blouses secondhand—I have a beautiful orange ruffled Ralph and a gorgeous big-sleeved reproduction/historical top, plus a fabulous black hemp peasant blouse! Favourite shirt style, hands down! It lends itself well to my rocker vibe.
Thanks for the post. Looking at the selection it reminded me of my all time favourite blouse. This was as a student in the 1970s. It was a Jeff Banks (British designer all the rage then) design in a multi patterned very soft fabric. The cuffs were tight with little buttons and the sleeves billowing from the shoulders. It was fitted in the body as everything was then with a big floppy collar and rounded ends. I can see echoes of it in the peasant styles you've featured. Proof I think that good designs do stay the test of time as they are recreated and reinvented. Excellent tip about not letting an elasticated waist show. I bought a skirt with Fortuni type pleats. The waist was elasticated and with a top tucked in it looked lumpy and with a loose top it felt wrong. I solved it by adding a statement belt that covered the offending waistband. That did break the rule about small women not wearing anything belted at the waist but I thought it looked good and I'm my severest critic!
Hi Jan, that blouse sounds amazing. It's funny how favorite articles of clothing stick in our minds, and probably inform new purchases. There is a very chic side to the seventies, as the look you describe. As far as rules go, I don't believe in hard and fast rules; there are always exceptions, and to be your own critic is the absolute best!

Thank you for this awesome roundup, Jolain!🤘💕
Hi Sheila, I'm so glad you liked it. It's a great look for spring and summer, and like you, I love the vibe!
This must have been alot of work to put together. Thank you. So many beautiful blouses.
Thanks, Cathy, I'm happy to do it. It does take time, I call it my labor of love!
