Hi Becky, I received my order just before leaving for a long weekend and at first glance and a quick try on I'm happy to report everything looked good. I'll report in more depth in the follow up post. The dress is for sure a keeper! Thanks for reading

Hi Leah, Thanks for reading! I see both skirts I ordered with a striped tee and leather belt and sandal for a casual day look or cotton shirt and could be a kitten heel for something more pulled together and belt. I also could see it with a boxy sweater that hits at the hip. I'll have to play with it when they come but yeah, you never know with sizing.

I get very excited by niche brands like Sébline, the feel and quality of the fabric is amazing and the attention to detail in the make is something you rarely see these days, even with the big name designers. I will surely be posting more about them! Thanks for reading and commenting!

I also ordered that long white linen skirt from Dissh but sent it back! I loved it but I think it was too big - something about the proportions felt slightly off on me? I can’t figure out what it was. I’m tempted to try again in a smaller size. What are you pairing it with?

I think they will, what he makes is very special but better to grow slow and steady.

This is the first article I have received since I subscribed. Thank you so much for not being overbearing and assuming. I like the way you told us about your search and processes. (As opposed to 'you should so this, you should do that.) You have been very helpful! If you want ideas for future articles, let me inject: 74-year-old female, size 10-12, 130 lbs, 5'7 1/2"; long legs. I have been ill over the past four years and just beginning to feel like myself. I want to transition to long skirts for casual wear (I rarely go out fancy.) I have been wearing modified compression knee highs and supportive shoes - usually tennis. But can wear slip-ons. So my question is What shoes go well with midi length skirts? I have only seen heels or sandals. I have a black favorite from Garnet Hill fully lined that I love. Please and thank you /M

Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad I struck the right tone for you, that is exactly what I'm trying to do, help people with the process with examples and suggestions. I'm happy to hear you are starting to feel like yourself again. That is a huge personal victory and the fact that you're now thinking about your style is very positive, so congratulations to you!!!

I love long skirts, they look chic but can be very casual for everyday. For supportive shoes I'm not an expert but I have noticed since Prada bought the heritage shoe brand Church's brogues have come into fashion for women. There are also many very fashionable trainers out there. I walked around Europe in a pair of Veja's with an orthotic in them and felt great. For more dressed up maybe a velvet tuxedo slipper in a fun color or pattern. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reading and all the best to you!

Thank you for this thoughtful newsletter! I struggle with buying basics, because I prefer to collect unique and eclectic pieces that stand out. However, it does mean that I sometimes struggle to put together cohesive outfits. I loved the examples you provided here, especially DISSH. I too am a fabric snob, and it’s sometimes hard to find well designed pieces in natural fabrics at these price points. I am especially excited by their linen skorts- you can tell it is designed by a woman when they think to put in little shorts under a short skirt. Also eyeing their Spencer black linen midi dress (lined in cotton!) and the Jasper cotton silk drawstring pant. The last because it sounds perfect for traveling in. Hope you provide an update when your pieces arrive, would love to see how you style them!
