I find statement earrings to be essential, especially with my short hair. I’m not a fan of yellow gold, however. I would love your thoughts on white gold or silver. Looking forward to hearing more about Spain. Safe travels my dear friend.
Hi Marilyn! Statement earrings are particularly effective with short hair. As far as gold color goes it's your personal preference though knowing your coloring I think yellow gold would look great on you. You could try it out with inexpensive gold-plated earrings. Though, there is nothing wrong with white gold and silver, all chic!
I too love statement jewellery and if you're strapped for cash (is that only a UK expression? ) and gold isn't on your shopping list, opting for low end costume pieces can offer you the same effect. A single colour outfit in neutral tones such as blacks, greys, whites can be elevated by a wild pop of colour in jewellery.
Hi Jan, Strapped for cash is also an expression in the US and gaining popularity by the day given the mess we're in! I couldn't agree with you more; jewelry adds so much to a look. I also love looking online for vintage pieces. Mid-century costume jewelry was extremely well-made with good materials and great design!
You may just have discovered a new bonus of getting older. If you hang on to your jewellery over time, you'll realise that a good percentage of it is now vintage! I was wearing some dangly silver earrings the other day which I'm pretty sure I bought in the 1980s and was asked by a couple of young women where I'd got them. That was definitely a self esteem boost.
Yes! Half my wardrobe and accessories are vintage by now! Thanks for the chuckle!
