Thank you for this! In the past two decades I’ve bought a few pairs of Prada shoes but stored in my phone (and back in the day clipped from magazines), you could always find these same images and more of Miuccia Prada who for me is the epitome of style and #1 inspiration in dressing. Could I possibly build out an antique jewelry collection at 70?!
You're welcome, Sara! Yes, you absolutely can start building an antique jewelry collection at 70. Please go ahead and keep me updated. Also, I'm currently working on another story about Miuccia Prada. If you haven't subscribed yet, consider joining for free so you won't miss it. I believe she is by far the most influential person in fashion today.
Miuccia is a great source of inspiration and thank you for including me! I'm working on a story with the working title, "There Is No Such Thing As Dressing For Your Age", coming soon. Thanks for reading!
the confidence of going about your day knowing you like what you're wearing and that you're wearing what you like!! know that feeling, wish I could bottle it hahaha
Really love this. I know her boxy sweaters don’t work for my frame (although I always with they would) but I think about her style a lot. Any recommendations on where to find trousers like hers, other than haunting the resale sites for old Prada?
Thank you! It's all about the cut of the trouser. The brand Joseph has slim pants that fit very well, and of course The Real Real to look for patterned or silk slim pants.
Absolutely adore Miuccia's style, and love seeing that it does not change with age. A great lesson for everyone; when you find what works and makes you come alive with confidence, you won't chase trends.
Thanks for reading, I'm so glad you liked it. She's an inspiration, I love how relaxed she always looks and very natural. In a recent Vogue interview it came out that she cuts her own hair! You gotta love her!
As a fellow stylist, I thoroughly enjoyed your article on Miuccia Prada and your reflections on cultivating a signature style. I'd love to connect with you further. Check out my page and welcome to Substack.
Hi Susana, Thanks for reading and commenting on my piece I appreciate it! I looked at your page and loved it, very smart and well researched! Can you believe I haven't seen the Women Dressing Women exhibit and I live a few blocks away. Happy to have seen your great photos!
I love this ode to Miuccia Prada and her timeless elegance! But every time I hear someone say 'the shoes make the outfit' my heart sinks. I can't comfortably wear 95% of the non-sneaker shoes on the market due to being born with the highest arches any Podiatrist has ever seen (I can only wear sneakers due to custom orthopedics). Birkenstock seems to be the only shoe company that cares about arch support. What is a high-arched fashion lover to do?
Hi Brittan, Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I hear you! I have my own limitations after years of abusing my feet in stilettos all day at work.Have you tried the soft glove leather shoes? I'm going to look into them myself, they look chic in a minimalist kind of way, just Google glove shoes. Also there are amazing sneakers out there now that are super good looking and can be worn with a serious outfits. My go to has been the Lanvin Bumpr, so comfortable and great looking. In summer try espadrilles, they're a classic. I prefer the flat or flatform to the wedge, but that's me. Good luck!
Loved this analysis. I have always been curious about her Mui Mui line and how that plays in. Maybe you’ll do a future post?
I absolutely loved this. Understated yet never boring, I adore her style too. Thank you for this ultra cool analysis of her style
Thanks Giulia, I think she's the chicest woman in fashion. I love your Newsletter, The Inside Pocket. Your April mood board is total inspiration!
And I l LOVE yours! Thank you Jolain :)

Beyond Chic, Truly Iconic

I just turned 50 and I'm on a search for the fresh reset on my style. She's been on the Pinterest board and adding yours in as well now.
