Plus, Superfine and summer sale picks: I hope you had a great Fourth of July and are still enjoying yourself wherever you are. For me, the beach is the only place to be on July 4th. Poor planning on my part kept me here in the city, so I decided to lean into it and approach it like one of the many tourists who flood into the city in the summer.
Thanks for the post. Stripes never seem to go out of fashion and they are so adaptable I think, including in different colours. They certainly worked for Paul Smith! The A.Emory suede sandals look very chic. I think a toe loop style mighty not be comfortable for everyone but that's a given with all footwear, or is it just me? Footwear can be tricky. I'm way too old to apply the philosophy of, " You have to suffer to be beautiful" . A slung sweater round your middle is a great idea. Also is using a capacious scarf or silk shawl around your hips. A bit hippy chic for some folks but I think it works. I'm sure that whatever weight you've gained from your hols will fall away once you get back into your usual routines. I'd strongly advice against diet or exercise regimes.
Hi Jan, I can vouch for for the comfort of the A Emory sandals toe loop and all, for me anyway. Like you I won’t suffer uncomfortable shoes as I used to. Agree on the scarf tied at the hip. It can add a whole new dimension to an outfit. Nice to hear from you!
Hi Amy, I appreciate your advice and compliments. I'm sorry if my feelings about my weight offended you. I assure you, I'm not ultra thin, I just know what weight feels right for my height and frame. Though I regret to see you go, I respect your decision and wish you well.
Colonized? Yikes! Starving yourself? Double yikes. Give up the language and attitude of violence toward your body. Make peace with your glorious shell that holds your even more glorious soul. What looks good? YOU look good, great even. Please stop promulgating ultra-thinness culture to what is arguably a mostly female audience. I'll be unsubscribing now. Ciao!
I learned that this excess body fat around the belly is a hormone storage facility for women of a certain age, so let's not get rid of it completely 😉
Glad it serves a purpose, though a bit less of it would be nice.
Oh, yeah!

Happy July 4 weekend my friend!
Here's my advice about those stubborn pounds...

Adios . To each their own. Her content is just that, hers. I happen to appreciate those feelings as I share them. How rude.
Thanks, Dewie.
