I was just thinking about a long column skirt for fall and now I know a perfect one. (Theory had one with too much poly!)
But beyond product the ADVICE! It can be applied generally to things you already own and allow you to see your stuff with fresh eyes. Truly, you are the best fashion Substack out there.
I am so excited to hear you give permission to mix black and navy. I will have many more options as a result. As I transition to fall I am going to spend some time in my overstuffed closet (with nothing to wear) to try to pull some outfits together. Thank you for the inspiration.
Hi Andrea, You do that!!! Take mirror selfies of the outfits you like and save on an album in your phone to refer to when you're getting dressed. And yes, rock that navy and black, it's super chic! xxx
Amazing advice! I have many things like these in my closet already (colored merino from Uniqlo and super similar boots from Legrès and men’s wool pants from Uniqlo) and indeed I can make them work even harder this way. Yay! Thanks for making me enthusiastic about my closet 😍
Love the pants! As someone who wears jeans almost daily, I’m excited to go check out Officine Generale. I used to wear dress pants casually (I’d call them my smart pants) and might get back into that habit. The cardigan is also another staple that’s on point.
Thank you for some really great styling points. And those work trips to Paris sound like a dream! ⭐️
Hi Kevin, What I love most about OG are the fabrics, beautiful woolens not blends! And the prices are fair. Yes I miss my expense account days! Thanks for reading!
Hi Mary, I'm so glad you liked it! Did you try Officine Generale UE ? They are a French based company. My link was for the US site but they have stores all over. They are great pants, but it's more about the shape of them and the fabric and weight which is beautiful. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
I really appreciate your insights. My wondering is how, as a newly minted 52 year old, I can balance timeless style and avoid looking to “madame” or matronly.
Restacked. Love this article. Clean, simple and stylish writing and wardrobe ideas. Heading into winter and hunkering down with paired down looks - turtleneck, boots and a great coat. And pants!
Hi Beth, Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me, especially after devoting so many hours to this last post! The encouragement is much appreciated!!! How did you find me, if you don't mind me asking? Hope to hear from you again. Happy Sunday!
This is truly brilliant. Usually I see “five easy pieces” or “capsule wardrobe” and it’s always so boring - or already been done twenty times. Wish I’d known about you earlier! But am loving catching up on all your posts. Thank you!
Jolain! This is genius.

Thank you so much Lynn!!! I think I'll take my own advice today and tackle my closet.
I so appreciate your support and thanks for the restack!!!

Love this, love the pants in particular! Unfortunately can't buy outside of the US, but I'll keep looking.
